Dr. Gero's Androids Android #16 #16 is one of they androids made by Dr. Gero. He seems to respect nature. He is the tallest of the androids and is pure robotics. It is his death at the hands of Cell that trigger Gohan's transformation into Super-Saiyan 2.
Android #17 #17 is another one of Gero's androids and is #18's brother. He is basically male version of #18 and is a great warrior. The last time he is seen in DBZ is when Cell absorbs him and goes to his second stage. Artificial human would be a more correct term for #17 and #18, because they are flesh and blood, but are artificial. In Dragon Ball:GT, he comes back from Hell and fuses with a copy of himself to become Super #17, or Hell's Fighter #17. He basically looks like an older version of himself then,
Android #18 #18 is very strong and is basically a female version of #17. She nearly kills Vegeta when he first became a Super-Saiyan. Eventually she fights on the other side with the Z team. She marries Krillin and they have a daughter named Marron.
Android #19 #19 is a big white android that can suck balls of energy through his hands (#20 can too). When he first arrives he fights with Goku until Goku had heart problems and left. When Goku left, Vegeta, now a Super-Saiyan, came and easily defeated #19. He is also robotic.
Android #20 #20 is Dr. Gero, or at least holds Dr. Gero's brain. My theory is that something happened to his normal body so he created an android identical to him to carry his brain. Anyways, he is the creator of #16, #17, #18, #19, and Cell. When he first arrived, he punched a hole in Yamcha, nearly killing him. #20 is destroyed when he lets #17 and #18 out of their pods (by them).
Bardock Bardock is Goku's biological father, and was killed by Freeza. His red bandana was white, but is now stained with his friend's blood.
Brolly Brolly is supposedly the legendary Super-Saiyan that appears every thousand years. He is a giant and has amazing strength. Brolly is a very fierce full blooded crazy Saiyan and shows no mercy, and is eventually killed by Goten and Trunks, along with help from the others.
Bulma Bulma first appears in episode #1 of the entire Dragon Ball series. She is the daughter of Dr. Briefs, President of Capsule Corporation, and is technologically smart. Bulma invented the Dragon Ball scouter which is used through the entire series. Her original goal to get the Dragon Balls was just to to wish for a boyfriend but this small quest turns in to an amazing journey. She meets many people and goes on many more journeys such as going to Namek. Somehow after Freeza is defeated for the first time she gets together with Vegeta and they get married. They have a son named Trunks and later a daughter named Bra. She carries tiny capsules ,which resemble pills, that transform into anything imaginable (hence the name Capsule Corporation). The pills usually contain vehicles. During the entire Dragon Ball series, Bulma changes her hair style around 27 times!
Cell Cell is one of Dr. Gero's creations. He was made of cells from many different great warriors such as Goku and Piccolo. In other words, he is a "clone", well sort of, of un-imaginable power. When he is fully matured in the future he kills Trunks for his time machine. Cell wants to search for #17 and #18, who are already destroyed at that time, to absorb them. When he absorbs both of them, he will be complete and be in his perfect form. He can't fit inside the time machine so he reverts back to his embryo stage. Cell goes to the past and grows for about 20 years, adn then is reborn. He battles the Z team for a while but eventually absorbs the androids. Perfect Cell fights with Vegeta and Trunks after they trained in the room of spirit and time. Cell is amazed how much stronger Trunks had become in such a short amount of time and asks if he could get stronger. Cell decides to hold a tournament in 10 days similar to the Tenkaichi Budoukai. He invited anyone who thought they could defeat him to attend the tournament. Cell is destroyed by Gohan, the first one to reach Super-Saiyan level 2. Cell has three humanoid stages. The first is a insecty looking one similar to the last. The second, after he absorbs #17, looks like the first but much more muscular, kind of like the Hulk. The last has a more human face, is purple and green. He eventually spits out #18 when Gohan hits him really hard.
Chaozu Chaozu is the little white guy that looks like a mime. He is Tenshinhan's (Tien) best friend. He tries to fight but I've never seen him have an honorable victory.
Chi-Chi Chi-Chi is Goku's wife and is the daughter of the Ox-King(the big guy with the horned hat). Goku and Chi-Chi first meet as little kids around the age of 11 (Goku says he is 14 but then they find out he can't count). She had a helmet with an ax-boomerang-thing on the top. She can fight, but doesn't very often.
Dende Dende first appears on Namek, the planet where Piccolo is from, and takes Krillin and Gohan to the Eldest Namek, Guru. Guru helps Gohan and Krillin find their hidden powers. When Piccolo fuses with Kami to fight Cell, the Dragon Balls ceased to exist. Goku brought Dende from Namek to recreate the Dragon Balls, and after that Dende is the Kami-Sama of Earth.
Dr. Briefs Dr. Briefs is Bulma's father and is the president of Capsule Corporation. He is an inventor and created the capsules that turn into things. He lives with a blond lady who looks too young to be Bulma's mother but well, she is. Dr. Briefs is very wise about technology.
Freeza Freeza, the all mighty emperor, is the son of King Cold. His brother's name is Coola. Freeza and his goons have power over the Saiyans (well , not anymore because ther is only a couple Saiyans left). Freeza can transform into different phases, each one stronger than the last, four in total. He is first destroyed by Goku, when Goku first turned Super-Saiyan. King Cold gathered Freeza's blown-up body and all the King's horses and all the King's men did put freeza back together again . . . as a cyborg. ( Note = The King doesn't have horses =P ). Freeza comes to Earth and future Trunks comes and quickly slices him up with his sword. That was the end of the all mighty Freeza. He makes a few more appearances in DBZ, such as Goku's visit to Hell, and he again appears in GT with Cell in Hell again.
Ginyu Force The Ginyu Force are some of Freeza's goons. They all have funny poses (about 5 of them). They beat up Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta but Goku defeats them.
Gohan Gohan is a human/Saiyan and is Goku's first son. He has the potential to become stronger than his father but he only fights when he has to. Gohan prefers to learn and dreams to become a great scholar...well, Chi-Chi dreams for him. He first appears when he is about 4. At the age of 11 , he becomes a Super-Saiyan in the room of spirit and time. He spends a year in the room, and that is why he is suddenly a year older and looks different (but only a day goes by outside the room). When he witneses the death of #16 while fighting Cell, he reaches Super-Saiyan level 2, and is the first to do so. With a little help from his father's spirit, he destroys Cell. As he gets older he becomes the Great Saiyaman, a super hero type guy. Videl, his classmate, figures out who he is, and eventually everyone else does too. Gohan never reaches Super-Saiyan level 3. At the end of the series he is about 26 and is a nerd :-).
Goku Goku is a full blooded Saiyan Saiyan and is the main character of the series. He has, or had a tail like all Saiyans do. In episode 1 of Dragon Ball, he is about 11. He was sent to Earth from planet Vegeta as an infant with the intent to destroy all life on Earth. He was somehow bonked on the head and lost his Saiyan urges to destroy. He became a kind little boy and was raised by an old man that found him named Gohan (not Goku?irst son). I wouldn?all Goku stupid, but at times he lacks intelligence. Maybe he is just ignorant. Anyways, he meets a girl named Bulma who is looking for the Dragon Balls. Goku joins her journey and becomes a mighty warrior. Dragon Ball Z starts when his first son is born. Goku finds out that he is from a different planet from his brother Raditz. Some of the major villians he fights are Vegeta, Freeza, Cell, and Majin Buu. Goku is the first to reach Super-Saiyan when he witneses the death of his lifelong friend, Krillin, while fighting Freeza. He is also the first to reach Super-Saiyan level 3 and 4, if you consider SS4 a leel of Super Saiyan. Read about it here
Gogeta (Goku + Vegeta) Gogeta is Goku and Vegeta fused together by means of a fusion dance. That is the difference between Gogeta and Vegetto. To become Gogeta, Goku and Vegeta do a dance and the fusion will last for 30 minutes. To become Vegetto, Goku and Vegeta wear special earings and the fusion is permanent. Gogeta is probably one of the strongest characters in DBZ, but only appears in movie #12. He again appears in the last few episodes of GT as SS4 Gogeta.
Goten Goku?econd son,Goten, likes to fight. He is much more like Goku than Gohan in both appearance and attitude. He reaches Super-Saiyan at a very young age most likely because he is part human and part Saiyan (a hybrid). Trunks, Vegeta?on, is his best friend.
Gotenks (Goten + Trunks) Gotenks is the result of the fusion dance done by Goten and Trunks. The fusion lasts for 30 minutes. Gotenks can reach Super-Saiyan 3, and does awkward attacks such as his Kamikaze ghost attack and his galactic donut.
Kamesennin Roshi Kamesennin, Roshi, Jackie Chun, he has many names. O.k, well, Master Roshi is a dirty old man who lives on a small island and gets nose bleeds. He sometimes wears a turtle shell on his back and has a talking sea turtle friend. He is the one who taught Goku the famous Kamehameha wave. He is almost always being a pervert.
Kami-Sama Kami-Sama is a Namek that lives on an island in the sky. I thought the island was floating but it is actually on a thin pole. He watches over the Earth and protects it from evil and is the creator of the Dragon Balls. Kami is actually Piccolo. Here's the explanation : There was a Namek named Piccolo who wanted to become the Earth's Kami-Sama. To become this he had to rid himself of the evil inside him. He Seperated the Evil, creating another Namek, who was pure evil. He was Piccolo Daimoah (Daimoah probably means demon or evil). Goku battled Piccolo Daimoah and eventually killed him. With his last strength, Piccolo Daimoah spat out an egg, and transfered all of his thoughts and memories to the egg. The egg is the Piccolo we know in Dragon Ball Z. Since Piccolo Daimoah is gave Piccolo Jr. (the egg) all of his memories and stuff, Piccolo Jr. is basically the same person. So, Piccolo and Kami-Sama are actually the same Namek. Understand?!?!
King Cold King Cold is Freeza's father who is killed by future Trunks.
King Kai King Kai, or Kaio-sama, lives on a tiny planet at the end of Snake Way. Goku trained with him to prepare for the battle with Vegeta. He is Goku's good friend and keeps Goku company while he is in Heaven.
Korin I don't know if it is Corin or Korin, oh well. Korin is a big talking cat that lives on Kami's island. Goku gets his Sensu beans from him.
Krillin Krillin, Kuririn, Klilyn, are variations of his name. I call him Krillin. Krillin is the strongest human on Earth. He may be small (like 4 feet tall), But size doesn't always matter. He was the only human to survive the battle with Vegeta, but then again he didn't fight much. Krillin doesn't have a nose, he has six holes, or at least dots, on his forhead. He met Goku when they where both kids and are about the same age. He and Goku are life long friends and Krillin's death is what triggers Goku's transformation to Super-Saiyan. Krillin eventually grows his hair back marries #18. They have a daughter named Marron.
Mr., Majin, Super, Buu First comes the Fat Majin Buu, summoned by Babidi. He acts like a baby and becomes friends with Mr. Satan. When his puppy and Mr. Satan get shot, Buu ges extremely angry and blows out another Buu. This Buu is tall and thin, and is only in 2 episodes. The thin Buu eats the fat Buu to become a very powerful muscular Buu. After fighting Gotenks in the room of spirit and time, buu eats most of the lesser characters (Bulma, Chichi, etc.). He then fights Gotenks some more, until the fusion wears off and Gohan arrives. Buu then absorbs the newly fused Gotenks and Piccolo. Once Goku arrives, Buu, who now has a little fusion jacket and a human nose, absorbs Gohan. Now he has Gohan's clothes on, which are the same as Goku's. After a fight with Goku and Vegeta, the Saiyans permanently fuse into Vegetto. Vegetto could probably have killed Buu, but Buu absorbs Vegetto, and Vegetto lets him. The absorbtion causes Vegetto to unfuse, and the two Saiyans explore the interior of Buu. (Buu is standing still doing nothing at the time.) After a fight with evil versions of Gotenks, Gohan, and Piccolo, they rescue the real people who were absorbed. They then fight Buu (inside his body the whole time). They exit through one of Buu's air holes along with the unconcious victims. Buu blows a lot of steam out of his holes, and eventually becomes little kid Buu. This little bad ass Buu isn't very nice, and decides to blow up earth. He makes a big ki ball, and Goku and Vegeta try to fly away while carrying their unconcious friends. When Buu's ki ball gets to close, they drop Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, and Goten and teleport to Kaioshin's planet. Earth is destroyed. On Kaioshin's planet, Goku fights Buu. When Goku gets beat up, Vegeta fights Buu. They take turns until Vegeta takes over. Vegeta is already dead, and can't be killed, so he keeps fighting. Buu spits out fat Buu, I don't remember why. Vegeta tells Goku to use a Genki Dama (spirit bomb). Mr. Satan tells the people of earth (who were already wished back) to give Goku their power, and they do. Buu dies.
Mr. Popo Mr. Popo (poe poe not poo poo!) lives on Kami's island and assists Kami. He ocasionally flies around on a carpet.
Nappa Nappa is the Saiyan that came to Earth with Vegeta. He faught the Z team and killed a bunch of them, including Piccolo. Vegeta killed him when he was doing bad. In DB:GT he comes back from Hell, and Vegeta kills him again.
Oolong Oolong is a shape-shifting pig who wished for supreme underwear in Dragon Ball. He appears once in a while in DBZ. Why does he wear a communist uniform? but whats it matter
Pan Pan is Gohan's daughter. Her mother is Videl, Mr. Satan's Daughter. In Dragon Ball Grand Tour, Pan, Trunks, and Goku search for the Dragon Balls in space to fix Goku (he has the body of a kid but he is about 45).

Piccolo's death while fighting Nappa is one of the most emotional deaths in the series. During DBZ, Piccolo becomes less and less evil. He learns to have friends and to enjoy life. Piccolo is one of my favorite characters.
Pilaf Pilaf is the little green guy that wanted the Dragon Balls. He looks almost identical to Garlic Jr. He's gone now, but is briefly in DBGT where he wishes for Goku to be a child (accidentally).
Mr. Satan Mr. Satan is a strong, cowardily man. He is the father of Videl. When the Z team defeat someone, like Bojack and Cell, it appears that Mr. Satan did it and he gets all the praise. He somehow becomes friends with Mr. Buu later. One of the only characters who never dies.
Tenshinhan Tenshinhan, Tien for short, is a guy with three eyes. Chaozu is his little buddy. Tien always stands on the side and watches Goku fight. When he does fight, he is usually killed, the poor guy. Only once during the Cell saga did he help at all...
Future Trunks This Trunks is from the future. He is the son of Bulma and Vegeta. In his time, the androids have taken over the world and it is in shambles. He goes to the past in hope to prevent some of this. When Freeza goes to Earth as a cyborg, Trunks first appears. He slices up Freeza and company with his sword. This act did not affect his timeline, unfortounately. The next time he is appears is when the androids come. He is not like the mischievious present Trunks, Future Trunks is quieter and kinder. This is because Vegeta is killed when Trunks is an infant (in his dimension). Bulma raises him by herself and Trunks lives without the influence from his father.
Chibi Trunks (present) This Trunks is in the present. Chibi means small or young. Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma. He first appears around the time the androids come. Trunks likes to fight, is mischevious, and can become a Super-Saiyan. Goten is his best friend and the can fuse to become Gotenks. He is one year older than Goten. In DBGT he grows up to become president of Capsule Corporation. He takes a brake from his business and tries to find the Dragon Balls with Goku and Pan.
Vegeta I belive Vegeta is the correct spelling because his name comes from the word vegetable. Anyways, Vegeta, son of King Vegeta, was strong when he was born. People thought that maybe the prince was the legendary Super-Saiyan that came every thousand years. Vegeta dreamed of being the strongest in the universe and knew he would be some day. He went to Earth in search of the Dragon Balls to wish for immortality but all of his dreams were shattered when he was defeated by Goku. He recooperated and went to Namek to find the Dragon Balls there to wish for immortality and kill Freeza, who ruled over the prince. Goku was also there with his friends. Goku fought Freeza and when Krillin was killed, Goku turned into a Super-Saiyan. Vegeta was shocked that this low class warrior was the Super-Saiyan and his dreams were crushed once again. Later, when Freeza goes to Earth, a young boy appears who was also a Super-Saiyan. There were two Super-Saiyans at the same time!. This gave Vegeta hope. He trained harder than ever at 400 times gravity but made no progress. Sometime around here Trunks is born. Vegeta becomes enraged and screams. He can't figure out why Goku is a Super-Saiyan and he isn't. This anger triggers his transformation into a Super-Saiyan. Later he becomes under Babidi's powers and turns into Majin Vegeta. Vegeta reaches SS2 in that evil state, but eventualy realizes that good always triumphs over evil. He kills himself in an attempt to destroy Buu, and it doesn't work!!! In GT, he is possesed by Baby and is incredibly strong.
Vegetto (Vegeta + Goku) Vegetto, called Vejitt in the manga, is the fusion of Vegeta and Goku by means of ear-rings. This fusion is permanent, but when Buu absorbs him, they are split back into Goku and Vegeta. One of the most powerful characters.
Yajirobe Yajirobe is a cowardily monk who cut off Vegeta's tail. He likes to eat. I think he is usually on Kami's island.
Yamcha Yamcha is a guy that, uh, does stuff. He never does much. Just like Tenshinhan! But really, Yamcha starts out as a Bandit in the Dragon Ball seris. He comes from the Diablo Desert. He has this little blue cat that is his side kick. Yamcha had a great fear of women, so he started searching for the Dragon Balls to wish away his fear. Goku, Bulma, and Oolong were traveling across the Diablo Desert in serch of the Dragon Balls. Bulma got tired and slept under this rock thingy. Then our good friend Yamcha comes up and gets in a big fight with Chibi Goku. Yamcha was just about to kill Goku when Bulma woke up. Yamcha saw Bulma, screamed , then ran for his life. He later joins Goku and the others in search of the Dragon Balls. Thank Raye for that.
